In the modern world, lighting is indispensable. But store lamps do not always fit the idea of a home designer. The materials at hand will help to solve the problem. Without special material investments, wine and plastic bottles can make a beautiful and original lamp for any room. He will help make the interior unique.

First you need to remember that the lamps are divided into several types:

  • desktop;
  • floor;
  • ceiling;
  • wall-mounted;
  • street;
  • portable.

Some of the luminaires are powered by the mains, so you will have to provide for connecting the cord to the lamp. Some lamps will run on batteries. Lighting devices in the country can be powered by solar panels. And to create romance, you can use candles.

In addition, light bulbs for lamps are also different. And before making an electrical appliance, you should consider the issue of safety. Conventional incandescent bulbs get very hot, which means they don't need to be used near a plastic shade.

Safer LED lamps or strips, fluorescent lamps, fluorescent and neon bulbs.

Tabletop

Since the glass bottle is stable, it is more often used as a leg. The main problem with such lamps is to bring the cord to the light bulb. There are several ways to do this.

Hole in the wall

Close to the base on the wall of the bottle, you can make a hole for the cord to exit.

Before starting work, you need to clean and dry the bottle, mark the place for the hole. For further work, you will need a small amount of water, a piece of clay, a drill and a drill with a diamond crown. Clay must be glued to the place of the future hole. While drilling, you need to gradually pour water onto the clay so that the drill and the bottle do not overheat.

When the hole appears, remove the clay, sand the edge with sandpaper and wash the bottle again. After complete drying, a cord is pulled inside, to which the cartridge will be connected. The plug is attached to the other end of the cord and remains outside.

You can put small colored pebbles or garlands in a transparent bottle. This will hide the cord.

A cartridge is attached to the top of the wire, a light bulb is screwed in. A home-made or ready-made frame for the plafond is installed on the neck of the bottle.

Removing the bottom with a thread

Wool or natural twine is required. The thread is abundantly wetted with alcohol or gasoline. It needs to be wrapped in 2-3 layers around the bottle in the place where the cut should be. For further actions, you need a small container of cold water.

The bottle with alcoholized thread is taken in the hands in a horizontal position. The thread is set on fire, and the bottle is twisted around its own axis so that the combustion is slow. As soon as the thread burns out, the bottle must be sharply lowered into the water. The glass will crack from the temperature drop. But this does not always work out the first time.

The edge is sanded. Through the bottom of the bottle, a cord is placed inside with an outlet through the neck, a Christmas tree garland is beautifully placed over the entire bottle volume, or you can put a low lamp for which the bottle will be a shade.

In all cases, the cord must be flat and thin so that the bottle rests securely on the table.

From under the lampshade

The third option for supplying electricity is the simplest, but not always aesthetic. The lamp wire does not get inside at all. A plafond is attached to the neck, which hides a lamp holder and a wire. Thus, the cord goes directly from under the lampshade.

Lampshades are often made from plastic bottles.

Floor standing

Since a floor lamp is often a tall thing, additional materials will be needed: wood, wire, metal fittings.

The palm lamp is a brown plastic bottle mounted on a metal pole. The base will be a cross, decorated with green plastic "grass". Palm leaves are also cut from it. Coconut lamps can be glass beer bottles in the form of barrels, inside which are placed small LED lamps.

But the floor lamp can be just the floor one. Several plastic bottles need to be cut in half. Bells are cut from the top. You need to pass a white Christmas tree garland or LED strip through the neck and put the structure on the floor, bending it in a fancy shape. Such a lamp will provide diffused light and decorate the living room. You can also make a garland or floor lamp out of bottles.

When creating such a decor, the lamp can be coated with acrylic paint or colored plastic can be used.

Chandeliers

In a large room, a pendant wooden lamp with glass bottles, which are inserted into the holes in the wooden frame, will look great. It will take several wine bottles of dark or colored glass. Inside each is a cartridge with a light bulb and a lead-out wire. The entire structure is powered by one or more switches.

Glass bottles can be cut in half and the top can be used. The cord is pulled from the chandelier through the hole and the lamp holder is attached.

Such a shade for a chandelier will look even more interesting if the bottles are cut at an angle.

And if you manage to pick them up in the same color scheme, for example, yellow-orange-green, then it will be a very beautiful chandelier. A multi-arm chandelier can be built in the form of a ball or a trapezoid.

But the bottom of the glass bottles can be used in the form of glasses. You just need to melt the upper edge with a burner - and the glass is ready. By the way, it can be used as a candlestick.

Chandelier Ideas

But the ceiling light can also be made of plastic. Here are some ideas.

To implement an interesting option, you will need:

  • five-liter canister;
  • a large number of disposable spoons;
  • stationery knife;
  • hot glue gun (or liquid nails).

At a five-liter container, the bottom is cut off. The handles of all spoons are cut off, leaving about 1.5 cm each. Starting from the bottom row, the spoons are glued tightly to each other in a circle of the container. The next, higher row is glued so that the effect of scales is created. Thus, the bottle is completely pasted over.

The neck can be decorated with the same spoons, or you can use parts from an old chandelier. From below, a wire with a fitted cartridge is threaded through the bottleneck. It remains to connect the structure to the ceiling.

A ceiling lamp for a chandelier can be made either single from a large container, or 2-4 horns from smaller bottles. For this you will need:

  • bottle (s);
  • twine or colored thick threads;
  • PVA glue;
  • brush;
  • acrylic paints;
  • furniture varnish;
  • stationery knife.

The light bulb will be attached under the neck. We decide on the length of the plafond. Cut off the bottom of the plastic. The top of the container should be coated with plenty of glue and immediately wrapped tightly with twine. After the glue has completely dried, the twine can be painted with acrylic paints and varnished. But using colored threads, you don't have to paint the shade. If the threads are woolen, then you do not need to varnish them either.

Another idea - and again, for one or more shades. You will need:

  • bottle (s);
  • hot glue;
  • glass stones of different colors;
  • stationery knife.

The bottom of the container is cut off. The whole bottle is pasted over with pebbles. After about a day, you can install the cartridge and fix the plafond to the ceiling.

When making several of these shades, they can be hung at different levels.

Wall sconces

If the ceiling of the old sconce has broken, then it can be made from plastic bottles. To do this, you need to cut a large number of yellow, green, orange leaves. With the help of a wire, the leaves are woven around the lamp. A pleasant diffused light will appear in the room.

For an oriental-style room, a Chinese lantern above the bed is suitable.

  1. To do this, a plastic even bottle must be cut from the throat to the bottom into very thin strips.
  2. Pull the wire through the strips by hand from the bottom to the neck. The wire is fixed in such a way that the bottle is significantly lower than its height. The strips turned the container into a flashlight.
  3. It remains to install a cartridge with an energy-saving light bulb through the strips and lead the wire through the neck.
  4. It is enough to attach a beautiful hook to the wall and hang a wire on it, stretching it to the outlet. The wall light is ready.

Street lights

Beautiful and unusual lighting can be made with your own hands for a gazebo in a garden area.

To do this, you need a large glass bottle of dark glass with a hole along the length, about 2/3. Moreover, the hole may have uneven edges.

The bottle should be placed sideways in a decorative container filled with river sand. A cartridge with a cone-shaped lamp is placed horizontally inside the bottle.

With the help of shells, old coins, starfish, artificial algae, shiny elements, the bottle is decorated in such a way that both sand and small objects are inside the container. The bottle itself also needs to be partially drowned in the sand.

The wire to the outlet is passed through the countertop. Such a lamp will remind you of the sea and adventures. And if you also decorate the gazebo with a fishing net, the neighbors will be envious!

But if there is no electricity in the country, they will help out with candles. Ordinary thick candles should be covered with a colored glass bottle without a bottom. This will protect the fire from the wind.

Solar lamps work without a network, and this is their advantage. During the day, they are charged from the sun, and with the onset of darkness they turn on themselves. Such lamps are simply stuck into the ground where needed. Round bulbs, decorated with colored plastic petals, will bloom in the evening with colorful daisies and bells.

You can also make a kerosene lamp out of a beautiful bottle. Having filled in kerosene and inserting the wick, it remains only to fix such a lamp on a tripod on the wall of a brick house or fence.

Portable

The difference between portable lamps is in the absence of a connection to the mains. In fact, these are lanterns, but decorated with lamps. An example of such a decor would be the following option.

You will need several paired colored bottoms from plastic bottles. Each pair is an "apple" or "pepper". Inside one bottom of the pair, a battery-powered lamp in the form of a candle is installed, which is tightly covered with the second bottom. From above, it remains to attach a twig with a leaf to hot glue.

Even one such "apple" will look beautiful in a dark room, and if you make several of them, the baby will fall asleep more calmly in his room.

If you insert a candle into the neck of a cut plastic bottle and beautifully decorate the container itself with openwork cutting, then the fire passing through the plastic will hide on the walls in fancy patterns.
