Peculiarities

A pine planed board can be described in two ways - both as a planed board, and as a coniferous lumber. Planing is meant, of course, not with a simple plane, but with high-quality equipment of a professional level.

Experts note that high-quality planed boards are always subjected to chamber drying. It has flawless geometry and impressive durability. This material practically does not rot even at high humidity (up to certain limits).

In the northern regions of the country, the annual rings of trees are very closely pressed against each other, and on the trunks harvested in the middle lane, the distance between them is 5 times greater. At the same time, pine growing in temperate climates is more prone to cracking. The growth region also affects the color of the core itself . Pine is durable and easy to handle.

This coniferous species “smells of forest” more than spruce. It stands out for its increased resinousness. In different cases, this circumstance can be regarded both as an advantage and a disadvantage.

Pine wood is comparatively lightweight. Even such complex details such as railings and stairs can be obtained from it.

The difference in price with wet lumber is fully justified. Dried products are easier to install, and they do not differ in any capriciousness. The probability of deformation under normal operating conditions is vanishingly small. It makes sense to buy wet blanks only for those who are ready to wait for their natural drying or have professional drying installations.

Selective grade, aka extra, allows for individual intergrown knots. Even the weakest manifestations of a fungal infection are strictly prohibited.

The share of end cracks of great depth should account for no more than 10%, small - a maximum of 16%.

The limitation on warpage and deviation from parallelism of edges is not higher than 1% . As for the sawn timber of the first grade, they can only meet the GOST tolerances.

Overt fungal infections account for a maximum of 10% of the surface area. Most often, first-class pine is started up for general construction work . The second grade is much cheaper, but the requirements for it are less stringent. A change in the inclination of the fibers and the appearance of resinous cavities are allowed. You can make formwork from such a tree, lathing under the roof; professionals do not seriously consider the third and fourth grades.

The specific species of pine is of great importance. The Angarsk, Arkhangelsk and Karelian varieties are most hardened in harsh natural conditions. And also for construction purposes, boards from ordinary, Korean, resinous, marsh and flexible types of pine can be used.

The type of cut of a pine trunk is also important . The transverse one speaks for itself - the cutter moves across the fibers. This method is used when you need to make artistic parquet. The tangential technique allows you to get fancy, beautiful patterns. Most often they try to choose radial cut boards, it provides an optimal balance between beauty and strength.
