How does this happen?

The period and features of the flowering of a tree largely depend on what species it belongs to

  1. Common ash . The height of this tree reaches an average of 25-30 m. The openwork crown consists of twisting shoots with light green lanceolate leaves. The formation of flowers occurs on last year's shoots. They are bunches of small bisexual flowers. Each of them has a bipartite pistil and two stamens.
  2. Floral ash . Many people know this species as white. This variety differs from its "congeners" by a low crown, consisting of branched shoots. They are covered with gray-green leaves. The height of the tree is within 18-20 m. White ash blooms especially beautifully, because during this period the tree is completely covered with white inflorescences. They consist of numerous small flowers. Their length is 11-13 cm. Each individual flower is a green cup, which is divided into four lobes. Inside it is a corolla with delicate white petals. It is worth noting that they are much longer than the calyx itself. Long threads end with anthers. Flowers can appear both before the leaves open and after.
  3. American ash . High, up to 40 m, the tree has an ovoid crown. Green-brown branches are initially covered with down. At the end of April, this type of tree begins to bloom. During this period, it is covered with inflorescences consisting of small and dense flowers, the length of which reaches 10 cm.

  4. Green ash . To many, this type of ash is familiar under the name lanceolate. The tree has a strong and wide crown. On the shortened shoots, inflorescences are located in the form of panicles or small bunches. Ash blooms in April.
  5. Narrow-leaved ash - This is a tree with an oval, branched crown, the height of which reaches 25 m. Flowers appear on the shoots that have grown in the last year, and resemble brushes, consisting of many small flowers.
  6. Fluffy Ash (Pennsylvania) . The height of the tree is 20 m. This ash tree has a spreading crown of irregular shape. The flat flowers are yellow-green in color and rounded. Flowering occurs in the first spring month.
  7. Manchurian Ash prefers fertile land. Its average age is 350 years. In early April, the entire tree is covered with female and male flowers. In some cases, the inflorescences can be bisexual.
