To create a folding stool with your own hands you will need the following tools:

• washers, spring nuts, spring washers - 10 pieces of each type;
• steel tube with an inner diameter of 8 millimeters, 195 millimeters long;
• a piece of reinforcement with a diameter of 6 millimeters, 31.5 centimeters long.

Step-by-step instruction

Before you start making a stool, you should prepare a drawing with dimensions or a diagram. Since this piece of furniture does not stand out for any structural difficulties, the sketch can be drawn by hand.

So let's get started. First of all, in accordance with the existing drawing, we prepare the individual parts of the stool.

1. We cut the block into pieces with an electric jigsaw: legs 48 × 4 × 2 centimeters - 4 pieces; crossbars 23 × 4 × 2 centimeters - 2 pieces; large crossbar 32 × 4 × 2 centimeters - 1 piece; small crossbar 27, 5 × 4 × 2 centimeters - 1 piece.
2. We round off the ends of the elements with an electric jigsaw and grind with an emery wheel.
3. Cut the ends of the legs from one edge with an electric jigsaw at an angle of 45.
4. Separately, the legs and crossbars are tightened with a clamp.
5. At the junction points of the legs and crossbars, we drill holes with a diameter of 6 millimeters with an electric drill.
6. We expand the holes with a reamer fixed in an electric drill to a depth of 5 millimeters.
7. We cut the board with a saw into strips 39 × 4 × 1 centimeter - 6 pieces.
8. We process all the prepared elements of the bed stool with an emery wheel.
9. We fix the crossbars with clamps, putting a temporary crossbar between them.
10. We lay 6 prepared strips on the upper plane of the crossbars with an interval of 10 millimeters between them, fix them with screws. A seat with a size of 390 × 290 millimeters came out.
11. From the reinforcement, we cut off a segment with a length of 315 millimeters with a hacksaw.
12. We clamp the bar in a vice and at its ends, using a lerka, we cut a thread for M 6 nuts.
13. We pass the resulting hairpin through the hole of one inner leg. We put on the tsarga on the hairpin, the role of which is played by a steel tube.
14. Pass the other end of the hairpin through the hole in the second inner leg.
15. We fix the ends of the studs on the outside of the legs with nuts, first putting on flat and grover washers. We tighten the nuts by means of a head with a wrench.
16. Insert bolts into the remaining holes of the stool elements and fix them on the opposite side with nuts. Be sure to put washers and grovers under the nuts. Grover washers are needed so that the nuts do not unscrew themselves under the influence of the springs.
17. We check the reliability of the connections, this is the end of the assembly process.

Finishing and decoration

After assembling the stool, it should be given an aesthetic appearance. You can arrange it in various ways:

• cover with stain and varnish in several layers;
• cover with water-based paint;
• drape with matter;
• perform decoupage technique;
• use art painting;
